What’s covered by the health cash plan?

Orchard Healthcare’s health cash plans cover a range of health treatments from routine health checks such as dental check ups and opticians visits through to health screening, specialist consultation appointments and even grants for hospital stays.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of what our health care cash plan covers:

Dental:

The most claimed for element is dental – get money back for dental check ups, x rays, fillings, hygienist appointments, dentures, bridges, crowns and even root canal treatment because we know dental health is essential.  Dental plan treatments on average cost our members £63 a year.

Optical:

On average a trip to the optician costs our members £196.00.  Whether it be for new prescription glasses, contact lenses a sight test or even new prescription lenses or repairs to existing frames - you’re covered with our health cash plan where we will contribute up to £100 each year.

Physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture:

Physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture on average cost £37.50 a treatment with most of our members needing 7 treatments.

Our members typically spent £266.96 on these treatments, last year Orchard Healthcare paid out on average £132.75 for these treatments.

Chiropody and podiatry:

Many of our members opt to have private chiropody and podiatry treatment.  With an average treatment cost of £26.83 regular treatments can add up particularly as most members have 6 treatments.  This can cost them £160.98, fortunately Orchard Healthcare cover 50% of the cost, allowing our members to claim on average £80.49.

Specialist consultation:

Orchard Healthcare pay 50% towards the cost of specialist consultation for our members.

It’s reassuring to know that if you have a health concern visiting a specialist is now made more affordable.  With increased NHS waiting times, speed up diagnosis by visiting a specialist consultant so that you can get reassurance faster.

Health screening:

If you would like to undergo a screening test then Orchard Healthcare will contribute 50% of the cost, giving you up to £125 towards health screening including:

  • Full health screen,

  • Well Man screening,

  • Well Woman screening,

  • Bone density scan  and

  • Mammography screening,

Hospital in patient:

If you have to stay in hospital costs can rise quickly for yourself and loved ones.  Our hospital in patient grant covers up to 50 nights a year.  Many of our members find this grant helps pay towards parking or other expenses that loved ones incur when visiting them in hospital.

Maternity / paternity grant:

The birth of a child is an exciting but also an expensive time.  Orchard Healthcare’s health cash plan provides a grant for the birth or adoption of a child.

Diagnostic procedures:

As part of the ‘gold’ level of the cash plan, diagnostic procedures are included enabling those members to gain assistance with the cost of MRI or CT scans.  Opting for private diagnostic procedures can help to speed up diagnosis and thereby treatment which can result in a quicker recovery time.
